The devotees observe a strict fast, and in the evening, they prepare a special prasad of jaggery and fruits. The third day is Sandhya Arghya, the day of worshiping the setting sun. The devotees gather by the water bodies, and offer their prayers and arghya to the sun god. The fourth day is Usha Arghya, the day of worshiping the rising sun. The devotees again offer their prayers and arghya to the sun god, and break their fast.
